Christian Star Academy walked to the Eyes of Freedom exhibit the week of Veteran’s Day in Mount Vernon.
It was a moving experience for everyone.
Between May & August of 2005, twenty-two Marines and one Navy Corpsman of Columbus based Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Regiment, died in service to their country while deployed in Iraq.
“There is no greater love than this: that one lay down his life for his friends.”

There were over 1,000 Mount Vernon students in attendance on opening day and many more throughout the week. The volunteer said he has never seen that many attend before.
